Woman killed in Udhampur road accident, two others injured

Officials said the vehicle (JK02CH-5448), owned by NHPC employee Abdul Kabir Zargar from Kishtwar, was traveling on the highway when it crashed into a road divider.

A woman died while her two relatives sustained injuries after their vehicle met with an accident near Udhampur on Saturday.

Officials said the vehicle (JK02CH-5448), owned by NHPC employee Abdul Kabir Zargar of Kishtwar, was traveling on the highway when it rammed into a road divider. The impact left the driver and two others, including a woman, injured.

All the injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where the woman, identified as Shafeeqa Begum, succumbed to her injuries. The other two injured, Abdul Kabir Zargar and Muhammad Asif Zargar, are undergoing treatment.

Police have registered a case and initiated further proceedings into the accident. (Agencies)
