India’s Vithya Ramraj has completed a remarkable three-medal campaign at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, winning gold, silver and bronze across three relay and individual events.
Ramraj’s standout moment came in the women’s 400m hurdles, where she clocked a personal best of 54.75 seconds to win bronze and break PT Usha’s 42-year-old national record of 55.42 seconds, set at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
She had earlier won silver in the mixed 4x400m relay, before adding gold in the women’s 4x400m relay as part of the Indian quartet. India’s women’s relay team clocked 3:29.69 in the final to secure the top spot.
The record-breaking hurdles performance adds another major milestone to Ramraj’s Asian Games campaign, as her 54.75-second run moved her past a national mark that had stood since 1984.
