US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has urged American citizens in Israel to be ready to take “immediate action” if warning alerts or sirens sound.
“We are encouraging all Embassy teams, families, and US citizens in Israel to remain prepared for Home Front Command alerts and sirens. Stay near shelters and take immediate action at the sound of alerts,” Ambassador Huckabee wrote on X.
US Carrying Out Strikes on Iran, Officials Say
The United States is conducting strikes on Iran, three US officials told CNN. One official described the operation as “not a small strike,” adding that it remains ongoing.
Second US Attack on Iran in Less Than a Year
The last time the United States struck Iranian territory was in June 2025, when President Donald Trump ordered warplanes to bomb three nuclear sites inside Iran.
With that move, Trump became the first American president in nearly 50 years to authorize a direct attack on Iran amid longstanding hostility between Washington and the Islamic Republic.
In retaliation, Iran launched around a dozen short- and medium-range ballistic missiles at Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military installation in the Middle East.
Shortly afterward, the US president announced a ceasefire and cautioned Israel against further escalation.
Strikes Reported in Multiple Iranian Cities
Strikes were reported in several Iranian cities, including Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Kermanshah, and the capital Tehran, according to the state-run Fars News Agency.
Video footage circulating online showed plumes of smoke rising over parts of Tehran.
Strike Coordinated With US, Israeli Source Says
An Israeli source told CNN that Saturday morning’s strike was coordinated with the United States.
However, it remains unclear whether the operation was carried out solely by Israel or involved direct US participation.
The reported targets included ballistic missiles and missile launch systems, which Israel views as a significant threat.
Israel Orders Essential Activities Only
Following the strikes, Israel’s Home Front Command directed residents nationwide to limit movement to essential activities.
The restrictions prohibit public gatherings, work, and school attendance, except in what authorities describe as “exceptional sectors.”
Israel Closes Airspace
Israel closed its airspace on Saturday morning after carrying out the strikes, the Transportation Ministry confirmed. (Agency)
