Houthi Media Reports Intensified U.S. Strikes Amid Ongoing Regional Tensions
U.S. Conducts Over 40 Airstrikes on Yemen, Houthi Media Reports
The U.S. military carried out more than 40 airstrikes on Sanaa, Yemen, early Friday, targeting multiple locations, according to Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV.
The airstrikes hit Sanaa International Airport, the Command Camp, the Sarif area, the Jarban site in Sanhan, and several other locations in northern Yemen. One person was reported wounded, while residents claimed the attack on the Command Camp caused damage to nearby homes, buildings, and shops.
The strikes came just hours after the Houthis claimed responsibility for launching two ballistic missile attacks on Ben Gurion Airport in Israel and a military site south of Tel Aviv on Thursday.
Friday’s assault marked the largest U.S. air operation against the Houthis since March 15, when Washington intensified its military actions against the group. More than 50 people have been killed and dozens injured in previous U.S. airstrikes over the past two weeks.
Tensions between the U.S. and the Houthis have escalated as Washington continues airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in response to threats against Israel. The Houthis have warned they will resume attacks on Israeli targets unless more humanitarian aid is allowed into Gaza.
On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump signaled that airstrikes against the Houthis would continue, reinforcing Washington’s stance in the ongoing conflict.
