Srinagar, August 20: Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Prof. Anurag Misra, on Thursday visited various administrative and academic sections of the Institute and reviewed their functioning, ongoing projects and key institutional initiatives.
During his interaction with faculty and staff, Prof. Misra sought feedback on the functioning of different sections and stressed the importance of coordination, efficiency and timely disposal of official work.

He also visited the Counselling Cell, where the ongoing undergraduate admission process is being conducted. The Director reviewed the arrangements for students and their parents and interacted with officials engaged in the admission process.

Prof. Misra appreciated the arrangements made by Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Mir, and his team for ensuring a smooth and systematic admission process. He also appreciated the efforts of officials and staff involved in admission-related duties and emphasised the need to provide all possible assistance to students and parents.
The Director subsequently reviewed the ongoing work on the Institute’s Mega Hostel project. He took an update on the construction progress and directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the remaining work.

Emphasising the importance of the hostel facility in strengthening student infrastructure, Prof. Misra called for close monitoring of the project and better coordination among all agencies and sections involved. He also directed officials to address pending issues promptly.
Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, and Deputy Registrar (Administration) accompanied the Director during the visit.
Later, Prof. Misra was briefed on the Institute’s NBA accreditation, NIRF ranking, digital infrastructure and other major institutional initiatives and achievements. He reviewed the ongoing efforts aimed at further strengthening the Institute’s academic, administrative and technological infrastructure.
Earlier, the Director also planted a sapling on the Institute campus, highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
