Jammu, May 2: Two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers have been appointed as Commissioners in Jammu and Kashmir in a recent administrative order issued by the authorities.
According to the official order, Mahesh Chand Bhardwaj has been posted as Commissioner, Audit, Jammu, GST and Central Excise. Another officer, Samaya Murali, has been appointed as Commissioner (Appeals), Jammu, GST and Central Excise.
The postings have been made as part of an administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening tax administration and improving the functioning of the GST and Central Excise departments in the region.
Officials said the new appointments are expected to enhance efficiency in audit processes and streamline appeals-related work under the indirect tax framework in Jammu and Kashmir.(Agencies)
