Traffic Police Kashmir issues advisory amid snowfall forecast.

In view of the prevailing weather advisory predicting heavy rain and snowfall across Kashmir, Traffic Police Rural Kashmir has imposed restrictions on the movement of certain vehicles on the Tangmarg–Gulmarg road from December 31, 2025.

According to an official advisory issued by the Traffic Police, tempo travellers, public service vehicles (PSVs), and vehicles with a seating capacity of more than 10 passengers will not be allowed to ply from Tangmarg towards Gulmarg from December 31 until weather and road conditions improve.

The advisory further states that vehicle operators and drivers have been directed to de-board passengers at designated holding areas or parking slots at Tangmarg. Passengers will thereafter be permitted to proceed towards Gulmarg only in light motor vehicles fitted with proper anti-skid chains.

Moreover, authorities have clarified that no vehicle without proper anti-skid chains will be allowed to move from Tangmarg towards Gulmarg until road conditions improve on the stretch.

Traffic Police Rural Kashmir has urged commuters and tourists to strictly adhere to the advisory to ensure safety and avoid inconvenience during adverse weather conditions.
