At just 14 years and 32 days old, Suryavanshi took the cricket world by storm with his explosive 101 runs off just 38 balls, including seven fours and 11 sixes. His blistering knock helped RR chase down a target of 210 runs, alongside his batting partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, in a remarkable partnership that saw 166 runs added in just 71 balls.

Speaking after the match, Suryavanshi shared his excitement, saying, “It feels really good. It was my first century in the IPL in my third innings. What I’ve been practicing for the last few months is showing now. I just focus on the ball, not on the field or bowlers. There’s no fear.”

Suryavanshi also praised his batting partner, Jaiswal, saying, “Batting with Jaiswal is good. He tells me what to do and infuses positive things.”

His fearless approach was evident as he smashed 28 runs off Ishant Sharma in an over, including two fours and three sixes, and then demolished Karim Janat for 30 runs in another over, hitting three fours and three sixes.

With his 101 runs, Suryavanshi reached his century in just 35 balls, marking the second-fastest century in IPL history, trailing only Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century from 2013. He is also now the fastest Indian to score a century in the IPL.

Suryavanshi, at such a young age, has etched his name in history as the youngest-ever to score a T20 century, surpassing the previous record held by Vijay Zol. His 50 runs came in just 17 balls, making him the youngest to score a fifty in IPL history as well.

The 166-run stand between Suryavanshi and Jaiswal is now the highest partnership for any wicket for Rajasthan Royals, surpassing the previous record of 155 runs set by Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal in 2022.

In his first three IPL matches, Suryavanshi has made a total of 151 runs at an average of 75.50 and a strike rate of 222.05, with the highest score of 101*. His IPL career started with a six off Shardul Thakur on his very first ball in the competition.

Suryavanshi’s IPL debut came after a surprising ₹1.1 crore bid during the mega-auction, making him the youngest player in the IPL. Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024 at just 12 years and 284 days old. He was also part of India U19’s match against Australia in the 2024-25 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, where he scored a 58-ball century.

In the match, GT posted a challenging total of 209/4, thanks to half-centuries from Shubman Gill (84 from 50 balls) and Jos Buttler (50* from 26 balls). RR chased down the target in just 15.5 overs, with contributions from Jaiswal (70* from 40 balls) and Suryavanshi’s historic century. Riyan Parag’s quickfire cameo of 32* off 15 balls sealed the win for RR.

Currently, Rajasthan Royals are in eighth place with three wins and seven losses, while Gujarat Titans are in third place with six wins and three losses.
