A 15-year-old boy was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Jadipora village, south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The deceased has been identified as Athar Subzar, son of Subzar Ahmad, and a 10th-grade student. Family members said they were shocked to find him unresponsive at home, prompting neighbours to alert the authorities.
Police teams reached the spot soon after the incident was reported and took possession of the body. Officials said that all legal formalities were completed, and a medical examination was conducted before the mortal remains were handed over to the family for last rites.
Police stated that only the post-mortem report will determine the cause of death. “We have initiated proceedings under the law and are investigating the matter from all possible angles,” a police official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.
