On the basis of dossiers prepared by Srinagar Police and formal detention orders obtained, both were detained and lodged in District Jail Udhampur. Police said they were involved in large-scale peddling of narcotics among the youth in Srinagar and had multiple NDPS cases registered against them across different police stations.

Despite repeated arrests, the duo continued promoting drugs in the valley through their network. Srinagar Police has also initiated proceedings to attach their properties under PIT-NDPS provisions.

Police reiterated its commitment to eliminate drug peddling from the region, warning offenders that they will be brought to justice. Citizens have been urged to share information on drug dealers/peddlers with the nearest police unit or PCR. (agencies)
