Jammu Dec 26: The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of Crime Branch Jammu today, (26-12-2025), filed a charge-sheet in a case of fraud and cheating against Akhil Goel S/o Vinod Goel R/o 1183, Gali Gujran, Near Old Post Office, Kanak Mandi, Jammu in FIR No. 18/2025 U/S 318(4) BNS registered at Police Station Special Crime Wing, Jammu.
Sharing details of the case, Sh. Sanjay Parihar (JKPS), SSP SCW Jammu informed that the case originated from a written complaint lodged by a resident of Srinagar, wherein it was alleged that the accused, Akhil Goel, working as a consultant, was introduced to the complainant by a trusted friend who had earlier availed his services. Believing the assurances of the accused that he would secure admission for the complainant’s daughter in Hisar Veterinary College, Haryana, the complainant paid a total amount of ₹9.00 lakh to the accused through bank transfers and Google Pay on various dates between 18-09-2024 and 10-10-2024, into his SBI account at Hari Market Branch.
The complainant further alleged that despite repeated follow-ups, the accused failed to secure the promised admission and subsequently stopped responding to phone calls. The complainant also visited the residence of the accused on several occasions but was informed by his elderly mother that she was unaware of his whereabouts. The accused allegedly absconded, causing immense mental agony to the complainant’s family and jeopardizing the academic future of his daughter.
On receipt of the complaint, a preliminary verification was conducted by Crime Branch (SCW) Jammu, whereafter FIR No. 18/2025 U/S 318(4) BNS was registered at Police Station SCW Jammu for in-depth investigation.
During the course of investigation, it was established that the accused Akhil Goel cheated the complainant by falsely assuring admission to his daughter and dishonestly induced him to part with ₹9.00 lakh, thereby causing wrongful loss to the complainant and corresponding wrongful gain to himself.
The case has been investigated by Inspector Nissar Ahmed of Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu, under the close supervision of SSP, Crime Branch (SCW) Jammu.
The Investigating Officer of Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu, today on 26-12-2025, produced the charge-sheet against the accused before the Hon’ble Court of Passenger Tax, Jammu for judicial determination.
