The film is based on the June 15, 2020, clash in the Galwan Valley, where Indian troops led by Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu confronted Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh. In Battle of Galwan, Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second-highest wartime gallantry award.
The movie is expected to blend nationalism, high-octane action sequences, and an emotional retelling of the events that deeply impacted the nation. Industry insiders say the stunning landscapes of Ladakh will add realism and depth to the depiction of the Galwan Valley confrontation.
