During the visit, officials informed that over 20,000 ration cards have been digitised into the national database, and around 8,500 migrant families have already received free ration under the Special Relief Ration Scheme.

As per the scheme, relief ration card holders are being provided 11 kg of free ration per person per month along with 1 kg sugar, while non-relief category migrants such as pensioners under NPHH are receiving 5 kg ration at NFSA rates.

The visiting team interacted with beneficiaries and clarified that ration for April and May can be collected together in cases where distribution was missed due to technical issues. They also assured that any shortfall in previous supplies would be rectified.

On-the-spot instructions were issued for timely correction of ration cards and resolution of discrepancies in the system.

A special camp was also organised by the Social Welfare Department to facilitate migrant families in applying for various social welfare schemes. Officials informed that 654 migrant families in Jammu district have benefitted from pension, disability, widow pension, and marriage assistance schemes in the last two months following integration into the NFSA database.

Authorities also cautioned beneficiaries against misinformation circulating on social media regarding loss of migrant status, clarifying that integration into the NFSA database does not affect their relief entitlements.

The team also inspected ongoing construction of the Multipurpose Community Hall and other civil works in Jagti and Nagrota, reviewing infrastructure development on the ground.

The Relief Commissioner directed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure regular water supply in the area, strengthen monitoring systems, and conduct routine laboratory testing of water quality, especially ahead of the monsoon season.
