Rajkot, October 3, 2026: A 38-year-old mathematics teacher at a government school in Rajkot has been arrested after a 14-year-old student allegedly accused him of sexually assaulting her over a period of around four months.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother with Rajkot Taluka police, the teacher allegedly threatened to fail the student in mathematics when she resisted his advances. The complaint states that the alleged abuse began in January 2026 and continued until April.
Police said the girl eventually disclosed the alleged incidents to her mother on September 23 after her behaviour at home raised concerns. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Investigators are collecting evidence, including CCTV footage, while the accused remains under arrest. The identity of the minor has not been disclosed to protect her privacy.
