Srinagar, Mar 11: Rain lashed the plains of Jammu and Kashmir over the past 24 hours, while the higher reaches experienced moderate snowfall on Wednesday.
Officials from the Meteorological Department said the rain and snowfall during the period have led to a drop in temperatures across the region.
“Light to moderate rain and snowfall in higher reaches was recorded in J&K during the last 24 hours. Some upper areas of Kishtwar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora districts received moderate snowfall,” officials said.
They added that the weather is expected to remain generally dry till March 14. Cloudy conditions with chances of light rain or snowfall in higher reaches are likely from March 15 to March 20.
The MET Department has also advised farmers to suspend farm operations till March 12. (Agency)
