Rahul Gandhi reaches Srinagar; set to meet the victims injured in the Pahalgam terror attack.

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi arrived in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday and will visit the injured victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

According to Congress, Rahul Gandhi will visit GMC, Anantnag today to inquire about the health of those who were injured in the attack.

The attack took place on April 22 when terrorists opened fire on tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, with several others left injured.

Congress leader Salman Khurshid stated that Rahul Gandhi’s visit is aimed at consoling the victims of the terror attack in Pahalgam. “Rahul ji is going to Kashmir and Pahalgam to meet those who have suffered. We have expressed our support to the government,” Khurshid said.

Rahul Gandhi, who was in the United States, cut his trip short and returned to New Delhi on Thursday morning.

Following the attack, the Central government held an all-party meeting to discuss the situation and decide on a collective response. Rahul Gandhi, after attending the meeting, expressed full support from the opposition for any action the government decides to take.

In response to the attack, India has implemented several strong measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 until Pakistan stops supporting cross-border terrorism, and closing the Attari Integrated Check Post.

The Indian Army has been placed on high alert and launched multiple operations to neutralize the terrorists involved in the attack.
