Kathua, J&K – The police have recovered a packet containing narcotics, believed to have been dropped by a drone from across the border, in the Hiranagar area of Kathua district, officials said.
Acting on information provided by local residents about a suspicious packet wrapped in a willow cover spotted on Tuesday evening, a joint team of police and the Border Security Force (BSF) launched a search operation and successfully recovered the packet, they added.
Following the recovery, a thorough search operation was conducted across the area to check for any additional items that may have been dropped by the drone.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the incident.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shobhit Saxena said that heightened vigilance is being maintained in the area and search operations are ongoing. (PTI)
