Jammu, November 27, 2025:
In a significant breakthrough, Jammu Police have arrested a 19-year-old youth, originally from Reasi district and currently residing in Bathindi, who has emerged as a key suspect in FIR No. 331/2025 registered under Section 113(3) BNS at Police Station Bahu Fort.
Preliminary investigation has not only revealed that the accused was being radicalised online but has also exposed the nefarious design of Pakistan to target and brainwash vulnerable young minds in Jammu & Kashmir. Police officials said the youth had been in contact through mobile phones with multiple numbers based in Pakistan and other foreign countries. These communications point towards a deliberate attempt by Pakistan-based elements to lure impressionable youth into the fold of violent extremism and push them towards orchestrating terror acts in the region.
The suspect’s digital devices have been seized, and forensic analysis is underway to map the extent of online radicalisation, cross-border communication, and possible operational instructions. Investigators believe this case is yet another example of how Pakistan continues to exploit digital platforms, encrypted communication, and social media propaganda to destabilise peace by indoctrinating local youth.
Officials said detailed questioning of the accused is in progress, and a thorough investigation is being carried out to identify the broader network, handlers, and online modules involved in radicalising and motivating the youth toward terror activities.
This arrest underscores the persistent cross-border conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir and highlights the need for continued vigilance against online radicalisation tactics being employed from across the border.
