More than 260 people were injured in the latest overnight US airstrikes on Iran, according to an Iranian Health Ministry official on Wednesday.
Hossein Kermanpour, spokesperson for Iran’s Health Ministry, confirmed that the attacks left over 260 people wounded. However, he did not provide any information regarding fatalities or the overall death toll.
The latest strikes mark one of the deadliest and most destructive rounds of violence in the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran.
The escalation comes amid rising tensions between the two countries over control and security in the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. The strait has long been a critical global energy route, with nearly one-fifth of the world’s traded oil and natural gas passing through it.
The recent surge in violence has heightened concerns over regional stability and the potential impact on global energy markets, as both sides continue to exchange military strikes.(Agencies)
