Operation Sindoor successfully hits 9 terror sites across Pakistan and PoJK; over 100 terrorists eliminated: Sources
In a major counter-terror operation, the Indian Armed Forces have destroyed nine key anti-India terror sites located deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), according to sources. Over 100 terrorists have reportedly been neutralised in a series of precision air strikes carried out early Wednesday, launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.
The targeted sites were affiliated with proscribed terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Among the nine camps struck, four were situated inside Pakistan — in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya — while five were in PoJK, including Bhimber, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad areas.
In Bahawalpur, the Markaz Subhan Allah, JeM’s key training and indoctrination hub, known to be linked to the 2019 Pulwama attack, was among the primary targets. Residences of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar and other top leaders were also located within the complex.
In Muridke, the Indian forces struck Markaz Taiba — LeT’s main training and radicalisation facility responsible for training several terrorists involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, including Ajmal Kasab and other global operatives.
In Sarjal, JeM’s central infiltration launchpad was hit, and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot, reportedly being developed by the ISI for terror operations under the guise of government infrastructure, was also targeted.
The five targets in PoJK included Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala (Bhimber), Markaz Abbas and Maskar Raheel Shahid in Kotli, Shawai Nallah Camp, and Markaz Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad — all known bases for cross-border terrorism.
Officials noted that the operation is ongoing, and the final toll may rise as damage assessments continue. The mission is being hailed as a significant step in India’s counter-terror strategy.
