Rajouri, Jun 20: Operation Sheruwali entered its 29th consecutive day on Saturday as security forces continued an extensive search and cordon operation in the dense forests of the Gambhir Mughlan area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
The large-scale counter-terror operation is being carried out across the rugged mountainous terrain, where troops are navigating steep slopes, thick vegetation, and difficult weather conditions in their effort to track suspected terrorists.
Security personnel have intensified surveillance, area domination patrols, and search operations to monitor any suspicious movement and prevent militants from escaping the cordoned area. Despite the challenging environment, forces remain on high alert and continue to maintain a strong presence throughout the operation.
Operation Sheruwali, launched in late May, is a multi-agency counter-terror mission aimed at locating and neutralising armed infiltrators believed to be hiding in the Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan sector of Rajouri.
The prolonged operation reflects the sustained efforts of security agencies to eliminate the terrorist threat and maintain peace and stability in the border district.
