Nirmala Sitharaman Assures Full Support for Arunachal Pradesh’s Development

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has praised Arunachal Pradesh’s rapid development and reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to supporting its growth.

“The progress in Arunachal Pradesh is truly commendable. The central government remains dedicated to ensuring that every city and town transforms into a model of urban excellence,” Sitharaman stated.

She also assured all possible assistance from the Finance Ministry to help the state realize its full potential.

Key Meeting on Urban Development

Sitharaman’s assurance came during a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh’s Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Minister Balo Raja and Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tamme Phassang in New Delhi on Friday.

The discussions focused on ongoing and future development projects, with both officials expressing gratitude for the BJP-led central government’s commitment to Arunachal Pradesh’s progress.

Unprecedented Growth Since 2014

Minister Balo Raja highlighted the transformative development in Arunachal Pradesh, attributing the state’s rapid progress to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He emphasized that years of neglect and underdevelopment were being addressed through strategic planning, increased funding, and efficient project execution.

Raja also urged the Finance Minister to allocate additional funds for completing pending projects under central and state government schemes. He stressed that sustained financial assistance would be crucial for enhancing infrastructure, urban planning, and civic amenities across Arunachal Pradesh.

Focus on Itanagar’s Urban Growth

Mayor Tamme Phassang discussed Itanagar’s urban development plans, seeking increased financial backing to support the city’s expansion and modernization.

Earlier, both Raja and Phassang also met Additional Secretary, Finance, Dr. SS Yadav, who commended Arunachal Pradesh’s progress and assured continued central support for its development.

Commitment to a Modern Arunachal Pradesh

This high-level engagement underscores the central government’s focus on strengthening urban infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh. With sustained support, the state’s cities and towns are set to evolve into modern, well-planned urban centers equipped with world-class facilities.
