NC MPs to Oppose Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament: MLA Abdul Majeed Larmi
Srinagar, Apr 2: National Conference (NC) MLA Abdul Majeed Larmi on Tuesday said that NC MPs will oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill during voting in Parliament, following directives from party president Omar Abdullah.
Larmi expressed confidence that other parties, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party, will also oppose the bill.
“Omar Abdullah has already directed NC MPs to participate in the voting and oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill. I am sure that JD(U) and TDP will also stand against it,” Larmi stated.
The proposed bill has sparked widespread debate, with opposition parties raising concerns over its implications. The NC has been vocal about safeguarding Waqf properties and ensuring transparency in their management.
