Srinagar, Mar 11: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said that Baramulla MP Er Rashid has approved ₹38.87 lakh for several drinking water–related works in Kupwara district under the MPLADS scheme.
In a statement, Inam Un Nabi said the office of the District Development Commissioner Kupwara has granted administrative approval for these works following the recommendation of MP Er Rashid to strengthen the drinking water supply in different parts of the district.
He said ₹30 lakh has been sanctioned for the supply of a prefabricated 9 KL capacity water tanker mounted on a truck chassis for the PHE Division Handwara. The tanker will help the department respond to water shortages and provide drinking water to affected areas when required.
Inam Un Nabi further said that the work for providing, laying and fitting of 80mm GI pipes in Dardpora village of Trehgam constituency has also been approved at an estimated cost of ₹6.87 lakh. The project is expected to improve the water supply network and benefit local residents.
He added that another project involving the installation of GI pipes for water supply in Ladah Taki Mohallah in Kupwara has been approved at a cost of ₹2 lakh to address drinking water issues faced by the residents.
The AIP spokesperson said MP Er Rashid is focusing on addressing basic public needs through MPLADS funds, particularly in rural areas where access to drinking water remains a challenge.
Inam Un Nabi expressed hope that the concerned executing agencies will complete the works on time so that people in the affected areas benefit at the earliest.
