MLA Parihar held a crucial meeting with Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in New Delhi today, during which key development initiatives for Doda West Assembly Constituency were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, MLA Parihar submitted a DO (Demi-Official) letter seeking priority consideration for sanctioning 29 vital road projects under PMGSY, with an estimated cost exceeding ₹400 crore. He informed the Union Minister that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for these roads have already been prepared and duly vetted by the State Technical Agency, highlighting their readiness for immediate approval.

The proposed road projects aim to provide all-weather connectivity to remote and hilly habitations, improve access to healthcare, education and markets, and enhance overall socio-economic development in far-flung areas of Doda district.

The discussion also focused on two strategically important infrastructure projects — the Sudhmahadev Tunnel and the Chattergala Tunnel — which are considered crucial for improving regional connectivity and long-term development of the district.

Taking cognizance of the urgency and public importance of the projects, the PMO directed the Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), V. Umashankar, to take up the matter on priority for further necessary action.

MLA Shakti Raj Parihar reiterated his commitment to equitable development of Doda West, stating that improved road infrastructure is vital for economic growth, better accessibility and improved quality of life for the people of the constituency.
