KUPWARA, MAY 15: Mission Director Mission Dairy Development J&K and Mentor Secretary for Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) Narinder Singh Bali today visited Lolab Sub Division to review developmental plans and initiatives being undertaken for the holistic development of Dardpora village under the Government of India’s Vibrant Villages Programme.
Upon arrival, he chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Government Degree College Sogam with sectoral and sub-divisional officers. Sub Divisional Magistrate Lolab Mudasir Ahmad was also present during the meeting.
During the review, the Mentor Secretary sought detailed feedback from line departments regarding proposed interventions and action plans aimed at ensuring socio-economic development of Dardpora village, one of the identified Vibrant Villages in Kupwara district.
Addressing the officers, Narinder Singh Bali stated that the Vibrant Villages Programme is a flagship initiative aimed at ensuring inclusive and sustainable development of remote border villages by improving infrastructure, livelihood opportunities, essential services and overall quality of life.
He emphasized close coordination among departments, proactive planning and timely execution of works for effective implementation of the programme. He also stressed the importance of adopting renewable energy solutions such as solar energy and biogas for promoting self-reliance and sustainability in border areas.
Later, he visited Dardpora village along with officers and interacted with local residents during a joint outreach programme. During the interaction, villagers raised concerns regarding healthcare facilities, road connectivity, education, employment generation and other basic amenities.
The Mentor Secretary assured residents that their genuine demands and developmental needs would be considered under the Vibrant Villages Programme and efforts would be made to transform Dardpora into a model village through coordinated interventions.
