Kishtwar, April 3: District Police Kishtwar has achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past five years.
According to officials, acting on specific information, a police team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Firdous Ahmed, along with Incharge Police Post Drabshalla PSI Bupinder Sharma, conducted a well-coordinated raid at a suspected location in Himachal Pradesh and successfully apprehended the accused.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP Kishtwar Pardeep Singh Goria (JKPS) and DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta (JKPS).
The arrested accused has been identified as Avtar Singh, son of Gulab Singh, resident of Thakrai, Tehsil and District Kishtwar. He was wanted in connection with FIR No. 123/2021 registered at Police Station Kishtwar under sections 376 and 354 IPC along with relevant provisions of the POCSO Act. He had been evading arrest since 2021.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Naresh Singh (JKPS) has urged all absconders to surrender before the law at the nearest police station. He warned that strict legal action under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) will be taken against those who continue to evade arrest.
District Police Kishtwar reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring a safe and secure environment for the public.
