J&K LG Manoj Sinha Performs ‘Pratham Puja’ Ahead of Annual Amarnath Yatra

Lieutenant Governor says all stakeholders are working in complete coordination to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage beginning July 3

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday performed the ‘Pratham Puja’ at the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine in south Kashmir, marking the ceremonial commencement of this year’s annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The annual pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on July 3, with the administration making extensive preparations to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.

Sharing the occasion on his official X handle, Sinha said, “Har Har Mahadev! Truly blessed to perform the ‘Pratham Puja’ at the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji, marking the ceremonial start of the annual pilgrimage. Prayed to Baba Barfani for peace, prosperity, health and well-being of all.”

The Lieutenant Governor said that the administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Army, police, security forces, local residents, service providers and volunteers are working in close coordination to ensure a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage.

He added that significant improvements have been made to infrastructure and pilgrim facilities, and expressed confidence that the administration is fully prepared to welcome devotees for a safe, secure and spiritually enriching journey.

Sinha also acknowledged the support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in making the pilgrimage successful and prayed for peace and prosperity for all. (Agencies)
