Jammu, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration has to face wrath of Opposition political parties and hurriedly rolled back the order on the very next day of its issuance on registration of new voters who have been residing in J&K for the last over one year or so ,sources said here today.
Though the officials have not come clear on any significant reason behind rollback of the order but it is claimed that due to strong opposition of political parties chiefly including J&K National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, AAP, Apni Party and Congress, the LG administration of Jammu and Kashmir withdrew the said order with in a day from the date of its issuance, sources added.
Sources said that Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah had taken a jibe on the central government for issuing such an order which according to him was just to enroll the names of outsiders in electoral rolls to felicitate the agenda of Bharatiya Janata Party in ensuing elections of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti, the People’s Democratic Party president and former J&K CM, lambasted the LG Admin alleging that BJP wants to destroy the social fabric particularly to ruin the ever rich Dogra Culture by issuing such orders.
She said government should desist from such irrelevant practices.
Similarly like other parties except BJP and Azad group, Congress too had opposed the order tooth and nail terming that Govt of India has lost faith on genuine voters of Jammu and Kashmir and that is why it has to issue such irrelevant orders at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party to promote its agenda of Hindutva in the Union Territory.
It was only BJP which whole heartedly favoured the order and made people aware that the order was relevant under Law according to Jammu and Kashmir People’s Act 1951.
