Jammu Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Trafficking; One Arrested with Heroin-Like Substance in Miran Sahib.

Jammu, June 1: Continuing its ongoing campaign against drug abuse and narcotics trafficking, Jammu Police achieved another success after a team from Police Station Miran Sahib apprehended a suspected drug peddler and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession during routine foot patrolling.

According to police, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib was conducting routine foot patrolling near Ring Road, Nandpur, when they noticed a suspicious individual. On spotting the police party, the person allegedly attempted to flee and tried to discard a green-coloured polythene bag.

The police team acted swiftly and apprehended the individual. During the search, approximately 2–3 grams of a heroin-like substance was recovered from the discarded polythene bag. An ACE mobile phone was also seized during his personal search.

The accused has been identified as Vicky Kumar, son of Banarsi Lal, a resident of Sujadpur, Miran Sahib.

A case under FIR No. 77/2026 has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to eliminating the drug menace and creating a drug-free society. The public has also been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing information about drug peddling and narcotics trafficking in their localities.
