The investigation reportedly uncovered a wider network of individuals allegedly involved in terror financing and maintaining links with terrorists and their associates lodged in different jails.

Police said preliminary findings suggest that the accused were secretly collecting funds from members of the general public and channelising the money through established financial channels to facilitate the activities of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF).

The funds were allegedly being used to provide logistical assistance to terrorist networks, including the supply of smartphones to support their activities.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Owais Shafi Naikoo, Tajamul Ahmad Shah, Moiz Iqbal, Imdad Yousuf Ganie, Saqib Zahoor Wani, Aamir Ahmad Ganie, Firdous Thokar, Liyaqat Nazir Lone, Mohd Hanief and Kaju. The accused reportedly belong to different areas of Shopian, Pulwama and Kathua districts.

In connection with the case, FIR No. 231/2026 has been registered at Police Station Shopian under relevant sections of law.

Police officials said further investigation is underway to uncover the complete network, establish additional financial connections and identify other individuals allegedly involved in the operation. More arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.

The operation is part of the ongoing efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies to identify terror-support networks, disrupt illegal financial channels and prevent funds from being used to facilitate terrorist activities across Jammu and Kashmir.

The allegations against the arrested individuals are subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
