Tel Aviv, Apr 08: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel supports the US-brokered ceasefire with Iran, but clarified that the agreement does not extend to ongoing fighting against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Netanyahu’s office said Israel backed US President Donald Trump’s decision to pause strikes against Iran for two weeks, on the condition that Tehran immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and halt all attacks on the US, Israel, and other countries in the region.

The statement added that Israel also supports US efforts to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear or missile threat. (Agency)
