Tehran, March 24: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched the 78th wave of its retaliatory campaign, “Operation True Promise 4,” targeting Israeli sites and multiple US military bases in the region.

In a statement on Tuesday, the IRGC said the latest phase involved missile and drone strikes on “highly sensitive” Israeli targets, including Dimona, Tel Aviv, and Eilat, as well as several US bases across the region. The Corps described this wave as “setting a distinct record in the timeline of the war.”

Press TV reported that the IRGC called the phase a major escalation, noting that missiles were launched while millions of Iranians held rallies showing support for the government with “clenched fists.”

Targets in Eilat, Dimona—which hosts Israel’s nuclear reactor complex—and northern Tel Aviv were struck using Emad and multi-warhead Qadr missiles along with attack drones. According to the IRGC, Dimona was targeted for the second time in recent days, following an earlier strike it claimed caused over 200 casualties in Dimona and nearby Arad.

Several US military bases in the region were also hit during the 78th wave. The IRGC said it was “negotiating with the vile, child-killing aggressors through impact-driven operations,” framing the strikes as part of a broader response to attacks against Iran.

The Corps warned that the situation could escalate further, noting that many IRGC combat units and millions of Basij volunteer force members had yet to be deployed. Any attempts by adversaries to change the course of the war would be met with swift retaliation, with Iran’s “heavy blow” striking “in less than an instant” against those responsible for aggression.

According to Press TV, Operation True Promise 4 began shortly after Israel and the US carried out what Tehran described as a new round of attacks on Iran late last month.

Meanwhile, in Kuwait, seven overhead power transmission lines went out of service early Tuesday due to shrapnel damage from air defence interceptions, Anadolu News Agency reported. The incident caused partial power outages in several areas, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said.

The ministry confirmed that specialised technical teams will assess the damage and repair the affected lines as soon as sites are secured, following safety protocols. Spokeswoman Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat urged citizens to rely only on official sources for updates and said emergency teams are working to ensure continuity of service, Anadolu reported. (Agency)
