Dubai, Mar 24: A semi-official Iranian news agency affiliated with the country’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard reported early Tuesday that two energy facilities were hit in recent airstrikes.
According to the Fars news agency, the reported strikes raise questions over remarks made by US President Donald Trump, who recently extended a deadline for Tehran to halt its actions that have disrupted traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had earlier warned of possible strikes on Iranian power infrastructure.
Fars claimed that one strike hit natural gas infrastructure in Isfahan, while another reportedly targeted a gas pipeline linked to the Khorramshahr power plant.
However, neither Israel nor the United States has officially confirmed carrying out strikes in those areas on Monday, though such operations are not always publicly acknowledged. It also remains unclear whether the facilities were directly targeted or suffered collateral damage from nearby strikes. (Agency)
