Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV, citing a “senior political-security official,” reports that Iran has rejected a US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war.
The official—whose name and position were not disclosed—said, “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met.”
Iranian authorities have repeatedly emphasized that they are seeking a complete end to the conflict, not just a temporary ceasefire.
According to Press TV, the official outlined five key conditions for ending the war:
- A full halt to what Iran describes as “aggression and assassinations” by its adversaries
- Clear mechanisms to ensure the war is not imposed on Iran again
- Guaranteed and well-defined compensation for war damages and reparations
- An end to the conflict across all fronts, including all allied groups in the region
- International recognition of Iran’s sovereign right to control the Strait of Hormuz
The report adds that the United States has been attempting to negotiate through multiple diplomatic channels, but Tehran considers the proposals to be “excessive.”
