IndiGo flight disruptions continued for the second straight day at Srinagar International Airport, with 16 flight movements cancelled till 8 AM on Saturday, officials said.

Of these, IndiGo was operating 36 movements, including 18 arrivals and 18 departures. However, 14 IndiGo flights — 7 arrivals and 7 departures — were cancelled, though no delays were reported in the morning schedule.

In addition, the official said that two flights — one arrival and one departure operated by other carriers — were also cancelled, taking the total number of cancellations to 16.

Airport authorities told KNO that remaining operations were running on schedule, but passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport. “We urge passengers to confirm their flight timings and reach the airport well in advance to avoid inconvenience,” an airport official said.

The cancellations come a day after widespread disruptions hit air traffic across Jammu and Kashmir, with 41 flights cancelled on Thursday, including 39 operated by IndiGo. The disruptions were attributed to IndiGo’s internal compliance measures and crew shortages following new DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) safety directives. (Agencies)
