HM Amit Shah and US Ambassador Sergio Gor discuss joint action against terrorism drug trafficking and transnational crime

NewDelhi [India], June 18: US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday, where both sides held discussions on strengthening cooperation between India and the United States in key security areas including counter-terrorism, narcotics control, border management, and tackling transnational crime.

Following the meeting, Gor posted on X describing it as a fruitful interaction, stating that the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to combat terrorism, protect citizens from illicit drugs, secure borders, and jointly bring criminals to justice in both countries.

The meeting came shortly after the US envoy returned from the G7 Summit in Evian, France.

Earlier, Gor had also highlighted broader India-US engagement, including discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on trade, regional security, defence cooperation, and technological partnership on the sidelines of the summit.

Both countries continue to expand cooperation under frameworks covering defence, strategic technologies, energy, and economic partnership, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the comprehensive global strategic partnership.
