Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (J&KPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Saturday urged for early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir to restore democracy at gross roots level .
Speaking to party workers in Gurvaith, Raithan and Kaich villages in Khansaheb constituency of central district Budgam on Thursday , Hakeem Yaseen said holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir without any further delay , was need of the hour to solve problems of the people , who have been pushed to wall due administrative apathy.
The meeting was held to discuss party affairs besides taking stock of the problems confronting people in the area. He said political uncertainty must end as people want their own representation to meet their urges and aspirations . He asked the people not to trust those political parties again again who have betrayed them ruthlessly in past .
Lambasting government for its utter failure to provide basic facilities to the people , PDF Chairman said consumers were facing acute hardships due to prevailing power crisis. He said since , financial conditions of the farmers and BPL families was very critical , government should announce special concession in power tariff in their favour. ” Lowest ever market prices of fruits in various mandis across the country , this year , has given grave set back to the farmers especially fruit growers and dealers ,” Hakeem Yaseen maintained adding that they were not in a position to pay their power bills. He has demanded free electricity to the consumers during the current months of harsh winter.
The PDF Chairman expressed his serious concern over the alarming increase in unemployment ratio and demanded a comprehensive employment policy to provide jobs to the educated youth.
