New Delhi, Jan 29: The Hajj Committee of India (HCoI) on Thursday launched a new self-service online portal for Hajj 2026 pilgrims, allowing them to book their own flight tickets and marking a step towards greater digitisation and passenger choice in the pilgrimage process.

Official sources told the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the facility, announced through a circular, enables pilgrims to directly select and confirm their flights using the dedicated pilgrim login on the HCoI website and the Haj Suvidha mobile application. The time-bound booking window will remain open for four days starting today.

Officials said the optional initiative is aimed at providing flexibility, allowing pilgrims to choose their preferred travel schedules, subject to seat availability and airline operations.

However, the Committee has issued a clear advisory stating that pilgrims who do not avail of the self-booking option within the stipulated period will be automatically allotted flights by the HCoI, with no provision for accommodating individual preferences regarding travel dates or carriers.

They added that all State Hajj Committees have been directed to ensure wide publicity of the new facility and to assist pilgrims in completing the online booking process.

For real-time updates, pilgrims have also been encouraged to join the official Hajj Committee WhatsApp channel, officials said.  (Agencies)
