GoM Formed to Monitor West Asia Situation, 16 Ministers Included to Assess Impact and Recommend Measures for India

NEW DELHI, Mar 28: In view of the ongoing West Asia situation, a Group of Ministers (GoM) has been constituted to monitor emerging developments and assess their implications for India.

Highly placed sources said the GoM will also recommend measures to be taken by the Government of India in response to the evolving scenario.

On the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 16 ministers have been included in the group.

The members include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister JP Nadda, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Power Minister M L Khattar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
