Drug Peddler Arrested in Kulgam with Contraband Worth Lakhs
In a continued effort to combat the growing drug menace, Kulgam Police arrested a drug peddler and seized contraband substances worth lakhs.
According to a police spokesperson, acting on a tip-off, a police team from Kulgam Police Station, along with an Executive Magistrate, conducted a raid at a suspected location in the village of Arreh, near the Islamia Hanfia Institute. During the operation, 471 grams of a Heroin-like substance, valued in lakhs, were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Raina, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Arreh, Kulgam. He has been taken into custody and shifted to the Kulgam Police Station.
A case under FIR No. 34/2025 has been registered at Police Station Kulgam, and further investigations are underway.
Police remain steadfast in their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and trafficking, urging the public to come forward with any information about drug-related or anti-social activities in their communities.
