Doda RTO Issues Show Cause Notice Over Alleged Rash and Negligent Driving Caught on Social Media

Jammu, October 6, 2025 — The Office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Doda Abrar Ahmed Kripak, has issued a Show Cause Notice to a local resident following allegations of rash and negligent driving that included “performing dangerous stunts on public roads.”
ARTO has also seized the bike used in making the stunt videos.
The notice was addressed to Tanveer Ahmed S/o Akhter Hussain of Binola, Deyoki, Chitrala Doda. The ARTO’s office brought to his attention that the vehicle registered in his name, bearing Registration No. JK06B-8733, was allegedly involved in the dangerous driving incidents involving a local women, with evidence reportedly circulating through social media footage.
While acknowledging that Mr. Ahmed may not have been the one driving at the time of the incident, the ARTO’s office stressed that he is legally responsible for the use of his vehicle as the registered owner.
Mr. Ahmed has been directed to submit a written explanation within seven (07) days from the date of issuance (October 6, 2025). The explanation must clarify the circumstances and state why his Driving Licence should not be suspended or cancelled as a result of the incident.
The notice further warns that failure to provide a “satisfactory explanation,” or if the owner is found “negligent—for example, by lending the vehicle to an unlicensed or irresponsible driver”—the ARTO’s office will proceed with the suspension or cancellation of his Driving Licence and initiate further action as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act without any further notice.
The notice was issued by the Registering Authority, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Doda, and copies have been forwarded for information to several key officials, including the Transport Commissioner J&K Jammu, the Deputy Commissioner Doda, the Sr. Superintendent of Police Doda, the Regional Transport Officer Jammu, and the Dy. Superintendent of Police Traffic Doda-Kishtwar Axis.
ARTO Doda has urged the people to follow the traffic norms and did not get involved in any such act that could endangered their lives as well the lives of pedestrian.
