Director FCS&CA Jammu Inspects FCI Godown, LPG Bottling Plant at Bari Brahmana

Jammu, May 14: Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu Rajesh Kumar Shavan today visited FCI Godown Birpur and Indane LPG Bottling Plant at Bari Brahmana to review stock position, distribution systems, and quality control mechanisms of essential supplies in Jammu Division.

The visit was aimed at familiarising officers with the processes of LPG bottling, ration distribution, and storage management, while also assessing the quality maintenance of food grains at the godown level.

During the inspection at the FCI Godown, the Director reviewed stock availability, stacking arrangements, storage conditions, weighbridge operations, and the moisture checking laboratory to ensure adherence to prescribed quality standards.

He was briefed by Divisional Manager FCI Navneet Kumar Rana on storage systems, transparency measures, preservation protocols, and timely movement of food grain stocks to the FCS&CA Department.

The Director directed officials to ensure strict compliance with quality control measures during dispatch of ration consignments and stressed the importance of maintaining transparency in supply chain operations.

Later, at the Indane LPG Bottling Plant, he inspected LPG stock availability, bottling operations, and distribution mechanisms. He emphasized the need for uninterrupted LPG supply to all dealers across the Jammu division to ensure smooth public distribution.

The FCS&CA Department reiterated its commitment to continuously monitor essential supplies and ensure fair trade practices in the interest of consumers.

Senior officials including Avinash (CAO), Jyoti (DD P&S), Rehana Tabassam (AD Mills), Rohit Kumar (AD T&S), and Rahul Gupta (AD Samba) accompanied the Director during the visit.
