REASI, MAY 07: To strengthen grassroots governance and ensure prompt redressal of public grievances, District Development Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, today conducted a Block Diwas at Sungari in Mahore Sub Division.
A large number of residents from adjoining panchayats participated in the programme and projected their demands related to basic amenities, including road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare and other developmental issues.
Representatives from Bhagodas, Balmankot, Channa and Tulli Banna highlighted various demands, seeking adequate staff in PHCs and schools, speedy completion of PWD and PMGSY roads, renewal of arms licences, upgradation of electric transformers, and the provision of an ambulance facility.
Additional demands included the establishment of a Degree College at Chassana, construction of a protection wall for the sports stadium, and a survey of BPL families in the area.
The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured redressal of genuine issues in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned officers present on the occasion to take immediate action for on-the-spot redressal of urgent issues, while other matters were instructed to be taken up on priority for early resolution.
The DDC also urged KKGs to come forward and apply for seed and fertilizer licences to strengthen agricultural activities in the region.
A pledge under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan was also administered during the Block Diwas, wherein all officials and public present reaffirmed their commitment to making society drug-free.
MLA Gulabgarh Er. Khurshied Ahmed, ADDC Krishan Lal, ACD Mukesh Sharma, CPO Narinder Kumar, SDM Mahore and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
