DC Reasi Reviews Building Permission Process in Rural Areas

Kumar Abhishek stresses transparency, timely clearances and strict monitoring of constructions

Reasi, May 08: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a review meeting regarding the issuance of permissions for construction and reconstruction of commercial and residential structures in rural areas of the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for transparency, proper scrutiny, and adherence to prescribed norms while granting building permissions. He directed concerned officers to conduct joint verification of proposed construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations.

The stakeholder departments were instructed to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) strictly as per established norms and within stipulated timelines to avoid unnecessary delays in the approval process.

Kumar Abhishek also stressed the importance of thoroughly examining building site plans before granting permissions. To ensure uniformity and streamline procedures, he directed officials to prepare and adopt a common format for issuance of building permissions across all departments.

The Deputy Commissioner further instructed officers to verify whether ongoing constructions in rural areas are being carried out with proper approvals and to take appropriate action in cases of violations.

He emphasized strict monitoring to ensure planned, regulated, and sustainable development across the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDMs, Tehsildars, and Block Development Officers (BDOs).
