Pulwama, May 14: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom today chaired a high-level meeting at Circuit House Pulwama to finalise arrangements for the forthcoming Mega Pad Yatra under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, scheduled for May 19.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for an upcoming VVIP visit to the district, with detailed discussions held on security arrangements, traffic regulation, transport facilities, venue management, parking, power and water supply, sanitation, and healthcare services.
The DC stressed the need for close coordination among all departments to ensure smooth and hassle-free conduct of the event. He directed officials to complete all arrangements well in advance and maintain effective inter-departmental coordination.
He also emphasised efficient public management and seamless movement of participants across designated locations during the programme.
Reiterating the importance of public participation under Jan Bhagidari, the Deputy Commissioner instructed departments to ensure proper facilitation for citizens joining the Pad Yatra.
Senior Superintendent of Police Pulwama Tanushree, Additional Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama, Awantipora and Tral, Chief Planning Officer Pulwama, and senior officers from police, civil administration, and paramilitary forces attended the meeting.
