Over 5000 applications received; draw of lots conducted for Baltal Axis locations amid assurance of fair process

GANDERBAL, MAY 07: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today presided over the randomization process for allotment of tents and shops along the Baltal Axis for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment towards ensuring a fair and transparent allotment mechanism.

The randomization process was conducted in the presence of concerned officers, applicants and stakeholders to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants.

Giving details, the Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that more than 5000 applications had been received. After due scrutiny, tents and shops were allotted to various applicants through draw of lots at different locations along the Baltal Axis including Baltal Base Camp, Domail, Railpathri, Brarimarg and Sangam.

During the interaction, participants also raised various issues and concerns regarding facilities and operational arrangements.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the participants and assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed in a timely manner through coordinated efforts of the concerned departments.

He emphasized that the administration remains committed to facilitating smooth arrangements for pilgrims and stakeholders during the Yatra period.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Informatics Officer and other officers and officials.
