DC Doda reviews healthcare and public welfare facilities across district

DC Doda reviews hostel, Nari Niketan and hospital facilities, stresses quality services and better care for vulnerable sections.

Krishan Lal conducted an extensive inspection of key welfare and healthcare institutions across Doda district to review facilities, assess service delivery and interact with beneficiaries.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Government Girls’ Hostel near Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), where he reviewed hostel infrastructure including accommodation, sanitation and kitchen facilities. He also checked the quality of food being served to the students.

Interacting with resident students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, the DC enquired about their living conditions, academic support and overall well-being. He emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe and supportive environment for girls to pursue education and achieve their goals.

Later, Krishan Lal visited Nari Niketan at Nagri, where he interacted with women inmates and orphaned children residing at the facility. He inspected kitchen arrangements, food quality and hygiene standards while also reviewing facilities related to care, rehabilitation and livelihood support.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely implementation of welfare measures and maintain dignity, safety and self-reliance for the residents.

The DC also inspected the Associated Hospital GMC Doda and reviewed the overall functioning of the healthcare institution. He took stock of the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, medicines and diagnostic facilities.

During interaction with patients and medical staff, he stressed the need for maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery and ensuring timely and efficient medical services to the public. He also inspected the hospital canteen and directed authorities to maintain hygiene, quality food and reasonable pricing for attendants and patients.

In addition, Krishan Lal inspected the ongoing construction work of the multi-storey parking facility at the New Bus Stand. He reviewed the pace and quality of work and instructed the executing agency to expedite the project while strictly following safety and quality standards.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among departments to strengthen welfare and healthcare services across the district. He directed officials to ensure regular monitoring of institutions, uninterrupted essential services and a compassionate approach towards women, children and other vulnerable groups.

Chief Planning Officer Manesh Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer Zubair Ahmed and other concerned officials accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
