Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the Holy Adhikmas Kumbh 2026, scheduled to be held at Mattan from May 17 to June 16, 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various departments including health, power, PHE, police, tourism, traffic, and municipal bodies. Stakeholders briefed the DC on expected arrangements and the significance of the month-long religious gathering.
The DC emphasized ensuring seamless facilities for devotees and directed departments to guarantee uninterrupted power and water supply, proper sanitation, and adequate medical arrangements including dedicated health camps and emergency services.
He instructed traffic and police departments to implement a robust management plan to ensure smooth movement and safety of pilgrims. Fire and emergency services were asked to remain on high alert with adequate deployment.
Departments were also directed to ensure availability of essential commodities, LPG, bedding facilities, and cleanliness around the temple area. The DC stressed inter-departmental coordination and appointment of nodal officers for effective execution of arrangements.
He said the event is both a major religious congregation and an opportunity to showcase hospitality and administrative efficiency in the district.
