The annual Darbar Move resumed in the summer capital Srinagar on Monday, with the Civil Secretariat reopening after shifting from Jammu.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was given a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on his arrival at the Secretariat.
The reopening marks the beginning of the government’s summer functioning in Srinagar, as various departments resume operations to ensure smooth governance and public service delivery across the Valley.
Senior officials and staff have already relocated to Srinagar as part of the biannual Darbar Move, a long-standing tradition in Jammu and Kashmir aimed at maintaining administrative accessibility in both regions.
Officials stated that all necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth functioning of offices, with enhanced security and logistical measures in place ahead of the reopening.
